Ab woh ghar tak viraana tha bas viraana zinda tha,

Sab aankhen damm torr chuki theen aur main tanha zinda tha,

Saari galli sunsaan parri thi baad-e-fana ke pehre main,

Hijr ke dalaan aur aangan main bass ik saaya zinda tha,

Woh dopeher apni rukhsat ki aisa waisa dhoka thi,

Apne andar apni laash uthaaye main jhuuta zinda tha,

Theen woh ghar raaten bhi kahaani vaade aur phir din ginn�na,

Aana tha jaane wale ko jaane wala zinda tha,

Dasstak dene waale bhi they dastak sunn�ne waale bhi,

Thaa abaad mohallah saara har darwaaza zinda tha,

Peele patton ko seh-pehr ki vehshat pursaa deti thi,
